If you people would put 1/2 as much time studying as you do complaining and partying then your GPAs would be twice or even three times as high!? It's just a matter of how you spend your time.

To everybody ranting about how they have such terrible grades and only people who are socially awkward virgins could ever get into universities. I am in all IB classes (for those who don't know what IB is, it is like AP AP, it is much more difficult to do IB than it is to do AP.) I have a 4.7 GPA, am involved with club volleyball, cycling, the schools musical, and have a very active social life. It is not that hard to have a social life,? and have good grades. @howlingserenity no offense but if you had a .5 GPA and have a GED? you will not get into MIT. My school was rated 151st in the nation by Newsweek Magazine and our Valedictorian was the only student who graduated that was accepted to MIT. He had a 4.3 GPA with a 35/36 on his ACT and had mainly AP courses. If I were you go to a good community college and transfer to a better school after you prove to schools how smart you are!

They don't have a social life, aren't gifted, they just work hard. If I tried I could be like them, but I like to hang out and do club stuff. I don't try very hard(which contradicts my point) cause i'm lazy but I'm NOT gifted. If every students with a 3.75 GPA was gifted then we wouldn't have such a F world.

so for all the rest of us, where our grade schools failed to help us or teach us anything of importance and someone? who was never given the chance to get more than a .05 GPA based solely on grades not smarts, how would we be able to get into a top ranking school with only a ged. that's if its even possible. i may not have gotten a diploma but i am definitely not an idiot, and i am wanting to attend MIT
